"The colonies are in open and avowed rebellion. The die is now cast. The colonies must either submit or triumph."

The year is 1726. Lord Cutler Beckett has taken over Port Royal, Jamaica. Everything - military and civilian business - must pass under the scrutiny of Beckett and his East India Trading Company. Taxes are high, and oppression of all those who disagree with the new government is rampant. Many do not recognize that anything is wrong or believe that the changes are for the better. Yet there are some who recognize the injustice. In secret, in the dark corners of Port Royal, they wonder what must be done. A few even whisper revolution.

For pirates, their days of pillaging the seas are rapidly coming to a close. The navy has become too strong and powerful for the pirates to win against. The risk of capture and death do not seem worth the slim possibility of wealth. However, for many, Beckett’s new policies have put a terrible strain on those who struggle to maintain their livelihoods. The navy and merchant vessels are known to be under Beckett’s thumb. The only way to earn a coin at sea, it seems, is to turn pirate.

Far away, a figure many believe exists only in sea yarns is stirring. Davy Jones, the terror of the seas, has discovered that his heart has been poisoned. If his heart dies, Jones will die too. He frantically searches for a cure. Jones learns of the mythological Golden Fleece and the Arabian corsair Sinbad, who alone know of the Fleeces’ healing properties. Desperate to survive, Davy Jones sets out to find him.

The struggle between tyranny and freedom will soon explode. Spies, witches, gypsies, sailors, and pirates must decide which side they will stand on. The coming troubles will affect all of them and will change the world forever.
