Canon Characters
Strike out = claimed. Reserved. You can change the Celeb.
If your audition is accepted, you may make the profile.
Note: If you audition for any of them, you must be able to have a lot of experience in writing.
[Jack Sparrow] Pirate Lord of the Caribbean Sea. After being tricked by Elizabeth Swann to save the crew, Sparrow and the Black Pearl were dragged to Davy Jones' Locker by the Kraken. Sparrow is trapped there until his former crew mounts a rescue party, whereupon he returns to the living world to battle his nemesis, Davy Jones. While in the Locker, he suffers hallucinations, seeing multiple versions of himself, each representing a different facet of his personality. played by: Johnny Depp
[Will Turner] A blacksmith turned pirate, and the son of the pirate "Bootstrap Bill" Turner, a crewman on the Flying Dutchman, commanded by Davy Jones. Will became the "Flying Dutchman" captain after Davy Jones, but frees his father and marries Elizabeth. (No longer captain.) played by: Orlando Bloom
[Elizabeth Swann] Governor Swann’s daughter and engaged to Will. She tricked Jack Sparrow into being swallowed by the Kraken to save herself and the Black Pearl crew. Jack is at first unable to forgive her for sending him to his doom and uses the event against her, but eventually relents. played by: Keira Knightley
[James Norrington] Norrington is a skilled, competent officer, but his personality initially seems rigid, snobbish, and slightly bigheaded. However, it becomes apparent that under his somewhat pompous exterior, he is a kind, fair-minded, and compassionate man who eventually comes to discern between what is lawful and what is right. He is also driven by forces other than his own goals or needs played by: Jack Davenport
[Lord Cutler Beckett] Beckett is a ruthless, manipulative, and treacherous man harbouring genocidal hatred towards pirates. He is chairman of the East India Trading Co. and representative of George I, the King of England. played by: Tom Hollander
[Captain Hector Barbossa] The captain of the Black Pearl, he was Captain Jack Sparrow's first mate before he led a mutiny ten years before. He and his crew stole cursed Aztec gold, for which they walk the Earth forever. He has a love of green apples and his monkey Jack, which never leaves his side. played by: Geoffrey Rush
[Captain Teague] A pirate and the Keeper of the Pirate Codex for the Brethren Court. played by: Keith Richards
[Sao Feng] Pirate Lord of the South China Sea, he captains the Chinese ship The Empress. He has a bad history with Sparrow and is reluctant to aid in his rescue from Davy Jones' Locker. "Sao Feng" (啸风) means "Howling Wind" in Chinese. played by: Chow Yun-Fat
[Davy Jones] Captain of the Flying Dutchman. The main antagonist, Davy Jones was once a human being. Unable to bear the pain of losing his true love, he carved out his heart and put it into the Dead Man's Chest, then buried it in a secret location. He has become a bizarre creature – part octopus, part crab, part man – and collects the souls of dead or dying sailors to serve aboard his ship for one hundred years. played by: Bill Nighy
[Tia Dalma/Calypso] An obeah witch who travels with the Black Pearl crew to rescue Jack, she also raised Hector Barbossa from the dead at the conclusion of Dead Man's Chest and is the woman Davy Jones loved. She is actually the sea goddess, Calypso, who was bound in human form by the first Brethren Court, because they believed the power of the seas should belong to man and not to her. She has the ability to raise the dead, implement curses, voodoo and witchcraft, and is in touch with the elements while in human form. When released from her human form, she transforms into numerous crabs to return to the sea and unleashes a violent maelstrom. played by: Naomie Harris
----------
[Governor Weatherby Swann] Elizabeth's father and governor of Port Royal. He adores his daughter but puts little faith in Will - not considering him the best match for Elizabeth. played by: Jonathan Pryce
[Mr. Mercer] A loyal employee of the East India Trading Company, and served as the personal assistant of the Company's governor, Lord Cutler Beckett. Despite serving faithfully in his official capacity as a clerk, Mercer also carried out some of Beckett's more sinister agendas as an assassin and a spy, and would stop at nothing to further his employer's pursuit of power. played by: David Schofield
[Bootstrap] A crewman aboard the Flying Dutchman who so happens to be Will Turner's father. He was cursed by the Aztec gold on Isla de Muerta (along with Hector Barbossa's crew). Thrown overboard after refusing to take part in the mutiny against Jack led by Barbossa, he spent years bound to a cannon beneath the crushing ocean. Found by Davy Jones, he swore to servitude aboard the Flying Dutchman crew and escaped death. As he slowly loses his humanity to the sea, he becomes mentally confused, barely recognizing his own son. played by: Stellan Skarsgård
[Lieutenant Gillette] An officer in the Royal Navy, holding the rank of Lieutenant while stationed at Port Royal. He served as second-in-command to Captain, and later Commodore, James Norrington. played by: Damian O'Hare
[Lieutenant Groves] A Lieutenant serving with the Royal Navy forces stationed at Port Royal, under the command of Commodore James Norrington. played by: Greg Ellis
[Pintel] A pirate and former Black Pearl crewmember under Captain Barbossa, he was imprisoned after the Aztec curse was broken, but escaped to rejoin Jack Sparrow's Black Pearl crew. played by: Lee Arenberg
[Ragetti] Pintel's inseparable crewmate. He has a wooden eye, and despite being illiterate, has begun "reading" the Bible, with the excuse that "you get credit for trying." played by: Mackenzie Crook
[Joshamee Gibbs] The Black Pearl's first mate and Jack Sparrow's loyal friend, he once served in the Royal Navy under Lieutenant James Norrington. played by: Kevin McNally
[Anamaria] A female pirate furious with Jack Sparrow for stealing her boat. He promises her the Interceptor in an attempt to assuage her anger. played by: Zoë Saldaña

Character: Lt Gillette
Sample Post WITH Character: (from another RP board, the thread it is excerpted from was a Ball which Gillette was attending. I have expanded upon it slightly to update it, and include more conventions common of RPing)
Gillette stood back with his fellow lievtenant, content to not be directly involved in the general merry-making. Or whatever it was that had a better definition for the political maneuvering of the nobility, and the endless glances that young marriageable ladies were shooting at every bachelor in the room.
God, he hated the idea of marriage. Especially to one of these girls whose mothers were more pariah than women.
"Well, my sincerest sympathies. I can't imagine how horrid it must be to attend one of these with your own mother here to play matchmaker. On that topic, have you spoken to her yet?"
"But I'm certain she is moments away from catching me. She has an excellent talent for search and destroy." David said.
Gillette permitted himself a chuckle at David's wording. You can temporarily remove a man from his military surroundings, but you can't remove the military from him.
"Why don't we set her loose then next time we manage to misplace the Governor's daughter. I'm sure with Mrs Torrington's bend on propriety she'd be able to find her way to any scandal--including Miss Swann cavorting with pirates," Gillette paused and then frowned, "again."
He shook his head.
"Honestly, I don't see what Jam--the Commodore ever saw in her. An obsession with pirates, with blacksmiths, with everything a dear woman shouldn't do...I swear, I'd almost think her a man, were it not for her oh-so-abundantly clear feelings on Mr Turner."
While the prospect of continuing to vent his true feeling on that particular siren was very appealing, made even more so by the prospect that she could come up to them at any moment for forced pleasantries, it was probably best to leave behind that topic and focus on a new one.
"Well, you have any plans for this evening, beside being shuffled off by the hostess? I'm feeling the need to drink to excess. Care to join me before we are forever trapped into some horrible, dispairing, and completely pointless dance?"

Character: Davy Jones
Sample Post WITH Character: Davy stood at the helm of the ship watching as the kraken consumed yet another vessel full of souls. The death of others meant little, everyone dies only Jones choose the time for some. Yet he liked to think of himself as 'merciful', he gave them a chance to cheat death. If servitude an a ship was what you prefer to death than so be it.
"Captain, we're ready" Maccus rasped limping over to his captain.
Without so much as another thought Davy transported himself to the other ship, appearing from the wood as if he had been lurking there all along. Looking around he smirked as his eyes met the five or six souls on the line up. One in particular caught his interest, a young boy no older than fifteen years of age.
Walking over to the boy he put a tentacle in his chin forcing his eyes to meet his. "Tell me lad," He said as if it was light conversation, "Do you fear death?"
The boy started to shake, his bottom lip quivered a bit but he kept his composure. However when he did not answer Jones laughed, "Should I take that as a no?" he then asked amusement crossed on his features. Davy's men took out their weapons ready for the kill.
"Leave the boy alone!" cried an older man, whom was probably a deckhand on the ship.
Jones shook his head, "Perhaps you would like to be an example for the rest of the souls here on board sir?" he cackled addressing the mans outburst. With a simple move of his claw Davy's men had the man cornered.
"Now, Do you fear death?" he said now closer to the man. The man met his eyes, a sadness filled them. Yet Davy's heart couldn't feel, it was no longer in his chest.
"No." the man whispered.
"Pity, You would have been a fine sailor? If you could hold your tongue" Davy said darkly. Without so much as another word from either parties Davy's men had already slit the throat of the man. The hit the deck with a thud, a very familiar sound in Davy's ears. His crewmen stood there staring at the body as if it were their first kill. Jones was very displeased.
"Well throw him over board you insignificant pile of chum!" he roared as the men did as they were ordered. Jones walked back over to the boy, "You see I am an Honorable man, I offer a way out of death. Servitude on my ship or the locker? What'll it be lad?"
The boy shook his head tears coming from his eyes, "Death..."
The answer surprised Davy, it wasn't often when someone would willingly accept death without a moments hesitation. Especially from a young soul. Sighing Davy gave the signal and the boy was killed.
"I grow tired of this meeting... Kill them." he said turning away from the helpless souls. He listened as the men's lives were taken.
